How we calculate
- How long it lasts you: the contents of the tub or bottle divided by the daily dose on the label.
- Per day and per month: the price divided by the number of days it lasts you; a month is 30 days.
- What matters: what you pay a day divided by what that dose provides. For omega-3, per gram of EPA and DHA; for magnesium, per 100 mg of elemental magnesium; for protein, per 10 g of protein; for creatine and BCAAs, per gram.
- Our products: with their price, the contents of their tub or bottle and what their daily dose provides, as stated on their label.
Why the price of the tub is misleading
A cheaper tub may last you less time or provide less of what you are looking for. And a more expensive one may work out better if it lasts longer or contains more per dose. The figure that really helps you compare is the cost per amount of what matters.
You have what you need for that figure on the label: by law, a food supplement must state in figures how much of each nutrient or substance it contains per daily dose 1. We explain where to look in how to read a food supplement label.
What to look at besides the price
- The form: not all forms are absorbed equally well. For creatine, the most studied form is monohydrate; for magnesium, the forms that dissolve well. You can read about it in bioavailability.
- For omega-3, the mg of EPA and DHA: not the mg of oil. We explain it with examples in which omega-3 to buy.
- The daily dose on the label: it is the one the manufacturer recommends not exceeding 1. Always compare against it: if a product provides little per dose, taking more is not the answer.
Frequently asked questions
Why compare per gram of what matters and not by the price of the tub?
Where do I find the daily dose and what it provides?
In the table on the label. By law, the amounts in a food supplement are given per daily dose recommended by the manufacturer.
What if I take a different dose from the one on the label?
Enter the dose you take in “Daily dose on the label”, and what that amount provides. Bear in mind that the dose on the label is the one the manufacturer recommends not exceeding.
Does it include delivery?
No. If you want to include it, add it to the price of the tub or bottle. In our shop, delivery is free from €60 and on all packs, and our prices include VAT.
